Tragedy Strikes: Michigan Man in Custody for Alleged Fatal Assault on Girlfriend

This Monday, police discovered a 42-year-old guy unconscious in his car with his murdered girlfriend in the passenger seat. The man was taken into custody.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office claims that Martin Yost fatally beat his girlfriend on Monday, Nov. 13. The 45-year-old man reportedly sustained serious facial and head injuries, according to The Macomb Daily. Yost was covered in blood when officers discovered him inside the vehicle, WDIV-TV said.

After more research, it was discovered that Yost had beaten his girlfriend in Detroit, put her in his car, and driven to Gratiot Avenue close to I-94, where they were discovered.

On Thursday, Nov. 16, Yost was arraigned in Roseville District Court after being charged with second-degree murder. He was told not to get in touch with the victim’s relatives and is still being held without bond in the Macomb County Jail. Yost is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Nov. 29 for a hearing regarding probable cause and on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for a preliminary examination.
If found guilty, Yost may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido issued the following statement: “This is a heartbreaking and striking example of the seriousness of domestic abuse. These are quite significant offences, and we’re determined to see that justice is done.”
