Early Monday morning in New York City, Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter, Jr. was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and strangulation (both felonies) of his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.

Early Monday morning Kevin Porter, Jr. 33 years old was arrested at the Millennium Hilton New York Hotel in Midtown Manhattan after beating and placing his hands around the neck of his girlfriend, ABC News reports.
Police responded to a 911 call to the room at 6:45 a.m. ET and upon arriving officers were informed that a 26-year-old female sustained a laceration to the right side of her face and was complaining about pain in her neck, the police spokesperson said.
Moreover, the woman was hospitalized after the assault. Porter remained in custody at the NYPD’s 17th precinct in Manhattan.

The Rockets Issues A Statement
The Rockets said that they are in the process of gathering information surrounding the matter involving Kevin Porter Jr.
NBA spokesman Mike Bass also claimed that they are aware of the reports regarding Kevin Porter Jr., and the league office is in contact with the Houston Rockets and in the process of gathering more information.
