Senators Elizabeth Warren, Ron Wyden, and Chris Van Hollen have written a letter to Department of Education head Miguel Cardona, urging him to take immediate action to increase transparency and accountability.
The senators are worried that borrowers won’t be able to find out who is responsible for their loan if there are problems. They think this will make it hard for people to report bad service and hold companies accountable. They want the Department of Education to make the system more transparent by showing which companies are responsible for each loan.
