Recently a news came out in which a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnast was shot dead near the college campus.
Whitewater Police said the suspect has been arrested. The suspect has been identified as a 23-year-old man. The 23-year-old man already knew the national title-winning college gymnast. The suspect shot 21-year-old Kara Welsh, a national title-winning college gymnast, after an argument at a campus area apartment late Friday night.

University Chancellor Corey King announced Kara Welsh’s death Saturday in a message to students and faculty as well as staff members.
“We know the news of Kara’s death is heartbreaking for our close-knit university community,” King said. “It is a time when we are all called upon to support one another, to process, and to grieve.”
A statement from Whitewater Police said that when the police arrived there on Friday on the report of a shooting, there was a 23-year-old boy, who had shot Kara Welsh several times. The girl was dead before the police arrived.
“Through investigation, it was determined that leading up to the shooting, an altercation had occurred between the two,” police said.
