New York Governor Sends Special Checks to Families in Need
Empire State Child Tax Credit: Eligible Families to Receive Extra Financial Support
According to CBSNews, Governor Kathy Hochul is sending special checks to families who need help. This is part of a big program that gives $350 million to low- and moderate-income families. The first checks will be mailed out on Monday. This is good news for many families who are starting to buy school supplies for their kids.
Families who already got help from the Empire State Child Tax Credit last year and filed their taxes on time will get the special checks. This includes families who make a certain amount of money. Married couples who make $110,000 or less, single parents who make $75,000 or less, and married couples who file separately and make $55,000 or less are all eligible. The extra money will be 25% to 100% of the help they got last year.
