Kentucky Police Find Remains of Missing 8-Month-Old Miya Rudd, Family Faces Charges

Reynolds Station Tragedy: Kentucky Police Uncover Remains of Missing Infant Miya Rudd

Investigators in Reynolds Station, Kentucky have found the remains of 8-month-old Miya Rudd who had been missing for several months, according to the published article of TRUE CRIME NEWS. The discovery came after Kentucky State Police conducted a welfare check and search warrant at her parents’ home on June 6 leading to the arrest of her mother Tesla Tucker; father Cage Rudd; and paternal grandfather Ricky Smith on multiple charges including drug-related offenses, child abuse and abandonment. Smith faced additional charges for firearm possession as a convicted felon while Billie Smith Rudd’s mother was detained on a domestic violence warrant. As the investigation deepened authorities arrested other family members and associates including Tucker’s parents Taletha and David Tucker and a roommate Brodie Payne on various warrants and drug charges. Timothy Roach was also taken into custody for drug possession after being found disposing of unprescribed medication.

Kentucky Infant Miya Rudd Found Dead: Police Investigate Parents and Grandparents

Despite extensive searches including the use of cadaver dogs Miya remained missing until June 14 when her decomposing body was found concealed under debris in her parents’ cluttered and drug-ridden home. Kentucky State Police Trooper Corey King stated that the discovery marks a new phase in the investigation treating the scene as if they had just arrived and found the deceased child. The home’s dangerous conditions filled with residue and drugs added to the grim situation. The medical examiner has now taken custody of Miya’s remains for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death while Tucker, Rudd, Smith and Payne face additional charges of abuse of a corpse tampering with evidence and failing to report her death.
