A Plymouth man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly biting off a chunk of another man’s ear during a drunken altercation, according to the published article of BOSTON.COM. Plymouth police reported that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. at a home in North Plymouth following a day of sightseeing and continued drinking at local bars. The confrontation escalated into a physical fight with both men exchanging punches before 39-year-old Michael O’Driscoll of Plymouth overpowered his opponent a 40-year-old from Dorchester, and bit off a piece of his ear.

Plymouth Man Charged with Assault After Biting Off Man’s Ear in Violent Drunken Brawl

According to police, the victim pleaded with O’Driscoll not to bite his ear but his pleas were ignored. Officers arrived at the scene to find a “two inch” piece of the victim’s ear preserved in a cup of ice water. The gruesome injury left the victim with severe disfigurement and the encounter ended with O’Driscoll’s arrest. Michael O’Driscoll faces charges of assault and battery with serious bodily injury and mayhem. Police released a mugshot showing O’Driscoll with what appears to be blood smeared on his head and face. This shocking incident highlights the dangerous consequences of excessive drinking and violent behavior.
