Brandon McManus Faces Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit; Commanders Release Former Temple Kicker
Brandon McManus a former kicker for Temple University and native of Hatfield, Pennsylvania has been released by the Washington Commanders following serious allegations of sexual assault, according to the published article of CBS NEWS. McManus who recently signed a one-year deal with the Commanders faces a lawsuit from two women who accuse him of sexual misconduct during his tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The lawsuit claims that the incident occurred last September on a team flight to London where McManus allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with the two plaintiffs who were flight attendants on the plane. The lawsuit filed last week has brought significant attention to McManus who has had a notable career both in college and the NFL. At Temple University McManus set multiple records including most points scored, field goals made and field goals attempted.

His high school career was equally impressive earning first-team honors in the Suburban One Conference and Times-Herald All-Area team. Despite his accomplishments the allegations have cast a shadow over his professional career which includes stints with the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars. McManus’s performance in the NFL has been strong with an overall field goal success rate of 81.4% and an impressive 97.2% accuracy on extra points. During his 2023 season with the Jaguars he maintained an 81.1% field goal completion rate and was perfect on extra points. However, the lawsuit not only targets McManus but also criticizes the Jaguars for allegedly failing to provide a safe environment for the flight attendants.
