Cleveland Man Admits to Torture and Confinement of Woman in Storage Container

After beating and assaulting a 60-year-old woman and placing her corpse inside a storage container, where she somehow survived, a 31-year-old man entered a guilty plea for several offences.

On Tuesday, October 31, Dalontay Edmond-Geiger entered a plea to counts of felonious assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and possessing weapons while disabled. According to reports, he might spend up to 25 years behind bars.

Early in May 2023, Edmond-Geiger fetched up the victim and took her to his house on West 97th Street and Henley Court, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. Upon arriving at his home, he “tortured her, physically attacked her, injured her in the arm, and zip-tied her hands.”

Woman Found in Distress in Plastic Container

WOIO-TV notes. It was stated that the victim was “stuffed and folded” in the storage container.

A woman was reportedly “acting hysterical,” according to WKYC, so Cleveland Police were sent to the residence on May 2 to perform a welfare check. When the police arrived, according to the prosecutor’s office, they “situated the victim in a small plastic container, screaming in pain, on the doorway.” She had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Edmond-Geiger was taken into custody by police right away. The Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office also charged him with attempted murder, to which he entered a guilty plea.

After the indictment, Cleveland County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley stated, “I have witnessed a lot of truly awful cases over the years, and this one is one of the worst ones I’ve seen.”

After being hospitalized, the victim, according to WOIO, remained in a coma for a few days and is currently unable to walk as a result of the assault’s fractured back and spine.
