Recently, on September 2, 2024, the man accused of murdering an 8-year-old boy was presented in the Hamilton District Court.

On Sunday 31 August 2024, police were called at 5:20 pm to a house in suburban Badar to reports of a “violent clash”.

Three people injured in the “violent clash” were taken to hospital, including an 8-year-old boy who was in critical condition. But later the 8 year old boy died. A 37-year-old man has been arrested at the spot where the incident took place, who appeared in court on September 3 wearing a blue jumpsuit with folded hands.

The suspect’s name has been withheld and he has not entered a plea to murder charges. The suspect has been remanded to appear in the High Court in Hamilton on September 17.
