Florida has reopened its My Safe Florida Home grant program offering residents up to $10,000 for upgrades to fortify their homes against hurricanes, according to the published article of AXIOS. Starting July 15 low-income seniors aged 60 and older can submit their applications. From July 16 to July 30 all other low-income homeowners can apply. The program then opens to moderate-income seniors from July 31 to August 14. The portal remains open until all funds are exhausted. Eligible homeowners can request a free inspection of their site-built single-family homes or townhouses to identify areas needing improvement such as windows, doors and roofs.
