Washington State Sees Massive Exodus of Taxpayers

$1.66 Billion in Tax Revenue Lost as People Flee to California

According to JustTheNews, Recently, the government looked at how many people moved to and from Washington state. They found that between 2021 and 2022, 18,798 people and their families left the state. This means the state lost almost $1.66 billion in money that the government gets from taxes.

Most of these Americans moved to California. In fact, 44,160 people moved from Washington to California and took over $3.8 billion with them. Some people also moved from California to Washington, but not as many.
