In a disturbing turn of events a caregiver from Texas finds himself in custody under suspicion of not only stealing settlement money from a disabled man but also being involved in his tragic demise, according to the published article of TRUE CRIME NEWS. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Daniel Howey a 37-year-old man with intellectual and developmental disabilities was found deceased in Dutton Lake in October 2020 with evidence pointing towards foul play. Carroll Richardson who provided care for Howey at the Caring Hands Group Home stands accused of exploiting Howey’s significant settlement funds diverting large sums for personal gain and business ventures.

Investigators believe Richardson conspired with Shaun Sandles to silence Howey permanently. A Chambers County grand jury recently indicted both Richardson and Sandles on murder charges shedding light on the grim extent of their alleged actions. Richardson was apprehended on June 3 during a court appearance in Harris County for unrelated matters subsequently booked into the Chambers County Jail. Meanwhile, Sandles remains in custody at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on separate charges from Harris County underscoring the severity of the allegations against the pair.
