Rachel Reeves: No National Insurance Increase if Labour Wins General Election

Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves has assured voters that the Labour Party will not implement further tax rises or hikes to National Insurance for working people if they win the upcoming General Election on July 4, according to the published article of GB News. Speaking on BBC One’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg Reeves emphasized that both she and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer are committed to maintaining lower taxes for those in work. “We certainly won’t be increasing income tax or National Insurance if we win at the election” Reeves stated criticizing the Conservative Party’s recent £64 billion of unfunded tax cuts as reckless. Mayor Gillian emphasized the city’s zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior noting that Ocean City experienced a surge of issues such as fights, shoplifting and disorderly conduct coinciding with the start of Memorial Day Weekend.

Following the chaos on Saturday multiple arrests were made, and order was swiftly restored once the disruptive teens were removed from the area. Gillian issued a strong warning to parents and teenagers “If you don’t want to behave, don’t come.” Despite Conservative claims that Labour’s fiscal agenda could lead to a significant financial shortfall Reeves reiterated Labour’s focus on fully funded and costed promises. She highlighted plans for an immediate injection of cash into public services, including funding for 13,000 additional police officers, 6,500 additional teachers, and increased NHS support. Reeves concluded, “In the end, we have to grow the economy and turn around this dire economic performance” emphasizing the party’s commitment to economic stability and responsible governance.
