Yakeema Shantrell Mercer Faces Charges of Drug Possession and Identity Fraud in Sumter County Arrest

According to WALB, A former detention officer from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office got arrested for trying to bring drugs into the jail. Yakeema Shantrell Mercer and two others faced charges like drug possession and identity fraud after an investigation. Mercer turned herself in and got released on bond.

Update on Alleged Accomplices: May Transferred, Williams Still at Large in Sumter County Drug Smuggling Case

One of them, Camry Kemarurius May, was already in jail for murder. May got moved to another place after the new charges. The third person, Quintavious Lamontae Williams, is still not caught, but the police are looking for him. Sheriff Eric D. Bryant said everyone’s safety is vital and won’t tolerate such actions. WALB is trying to get their photos as the investigation goes on.
