Long Island Woman Faces Federal Charges for Selling Misbranded Weight Loss Drugs on TikTok
Isis Navarro Reyes Accused of Smuggling and Unlicensed Drug Sales, Potentially Endangering Consumers
According to True Crime Daily, a woman in Long Island, New York faces federal charges for allegedly obtaining misbranded weight loss drugs, including Ozempic, from out of the country and selling them to her followers on TikTok without a license. Isis Navarro Reyes, who also goes by Beraly Navarro, is accused of marketing, advertising, and selling misbranded drugs like Ozempic, Mesofrance, and Axcion to her social media followers. Prosecutors claim that Reyes acquired the Misbranded drugs from Central and South America and sold them online, even though they were not approved for sale in the United States by the FDA. If convicted of smuggling, Reyes could face a maximum sentence of 20 years.

Alleged Crimes by Isis Navarro Reyes Result in Serious Injuries and Health Risks for Victims
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated that Reyes’ alleged crimes led to “significant, life-threatening injuries to some victims and put all of her victims in harm’s way.” In one instance, a victim reportedly developed lesions from Mesofrance, a drug provided by Reyes, which later resulted in a mycobacterium abscessus infection. The New York Department of Health found that a tested vial of Mesofrance from Reyes contained the infection-causing bacterium.
