Navigating New York State: Unveiling the 7 Most Dangerous Cities You Need to Know

It is clear from examining the data provided by the Division of Criminal Justice Services that some regions see spikes in both violent and property crime.

“Both New York State and the FBI use seven Index crime categories: rape, robbery, murder, and serious assault in addition to property crimes including burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft as indications of overall crime trends. These categories were established by the FBI to facilitate consistent reporting of crimes in all 50 states.

HouseGrail.com investigated the list of the riskiest cities in New York after examining FBI data.

While our main focus for our findings was on the rates of violent and murderous crimes, we also made an effort to use historical data and connect it to current patterns. An area’s ranking increases if crime there is an annual increase; however, if crime is declining, it decreases slightly.

The seven most hazardous cities in New York State are listed on a list recently published by HouseGrail.com. The following cities are the ones that topped the list:

  • According to crime data, there are 24.0 murders for every 100,000 people
  • There are 1,018 violent crimes for every 100,000 people.

2. Niagara Falls, NY

  • The population of Niagara Falls, New York, is 48,252.
  • According to crime statistics, there are 2.0 murders for every 100,000 people
  • There are 4,343 violent crimes for every 100,000 people.

3. Rochester, NY

  • The population of Rochester is 206,848.
  • According to crime statistics, there are 35.3 murders for every 100,000 people
  • There are 800 violent crimes for every 100,000 people.

4. Albany, NY

  • The population of Albany, NY is 97,478
  • According to crime statistics, there are 16 murders for every 100,000 people
  • There are 8,850 violent crimes for every 100,000 people.

5. Syracuse, NY

  • The population of Syracuse, NY is 142,874.
  • According to crime statistics, there are 22.14 murders for every 100,000 people
  • There are 819.67 violent crimes for every 100,000 people.

6. Binghamton
