Joyce Ann Small, 64, is now facing serious legal consequences as details of the horrific incident continue to emerge. Small is accused of approaching Sarai outside a library in Miami Gardens, where she allegedly shot her to death.

Small claimed that Sarai was homeless and that she had occasionally allowed her to stay in her home to shower and sleep. However, the situation took a dark turn as Small suspected Sarai of having an affair with her boyfriend, who was reportedly married to another woman.

Allegedly, Small told law enforcement officials that she had been spying on Sarai, and she believed that Sarai had been mistreating her and physically assaulting her for several months. These suspicions ultimately led to the tragic shooting outside the library.

Security camera footage, as described in the arrest report, seemingly confirmed Small’s actions. The footage purportedly shows Small emerging from the bushes to ambush the victim as she was walking towards the library’s parking lot. Tragically, Sarai was pronounced dead at the scene.

The gun used in the incident was found at the scene, further supporting the evidence against Small.

Following the incident, Joyce Ann Small was charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held without bail at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. While jail records did not specify her next court appearance date, it was reported that she is currently represented by a public defender.

This harrowing incident serves as a somber reminder of the complexities of interpersonal relationships and the potential consequences of unchecked emotions. Small’s actions have resulted in a heartbreaking loss of life and a criminal charge that could alter her own life forever.

As the legal proceedings progress, the community and the nation will be following this case closely to understand the full extent of the events that transpired outside the Miami Gardens library.
