A North Carolina man and woman were arrested after police discovered a bag of cocaine hidden inside a cheeseburger during a traffic stop. The incident highlights the lengths to which some individuals will go to conceal illegal substances.

Traffic Stop Uncovers Hidden Drugs

De Anthonie Trey Vion Taylor, 23, and Brianna Marie Smith, 24, were pulled over by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. During the traffic stop, deputies searched the vehicle and made a surprising discovery: a bag of cocaine hidden inside a cheeseburger. This unusual find led to multiple drug charges for both individuals.

Arrests and Charges for Taylor and Smith

Taylor is facing several serious charges, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The sheriff’s office humorously noted on their Facebook page, “BK, have it your way… not today,” referring to the infamous Burger King slogan.

Smith, the passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested. She faces charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were taken into custody following the traffic stop.

Weapons and Other Illicit Drugs Found

The discovery of the cocaine-laden cheeseburger was just the beginning. Deputies also found fentanyl, marijuana, two guns, and the seizure and anxiety drug clonazepam in the vehicle. These findings significantly added to the severity of the charges against Taylor and Smith.

Taylor has since bonded out of Lee County Jail, while Smith remains incarcerated with a $50,000 bond. Inmate records do not indicate whether either individual has secured legal representation. This case serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle law enforcement faces in combating drug trafficking and the creative, albeit illegal, methods used to transport drugs.
