BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Baton Rouge police made a significant arrest in connection with a shooting incident, resulting in the apprehension of a convicted felon on multiple gun and drug charges.
The arrest occurred following an investigation into a shooting incident reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Saturday in the 3100 block of Mission Drive. Responding officers were informed that an individual had been observed entering a nearby apartment carrying a rifle, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon searching the apartment, officers made a startling discovery. They recovered a stolen pistol along with several other firearms, as well as quantities of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Kristopher Hills, was taken into custody by the authorities. Hills faces a litany of charges, including four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, he is charged with possession of a stolen firearm belonging to the Baton Rouge Police Department, handling of machine guns, possession of a firearm in conjunction with controlled dangerous substances, and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal firearm possession and drug-related activities within the Baton Rouge area.
