On Thursday night, two children and a man were discovered dead inside a blazing house in northern Kansas City.
Officers responded to a welfare assistance request at the 1000 block of Northwest 91st Terrace shortly before 9:45 p.m. According to an email from Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, they checked the house’s outside and discovered smoke inside.
According to DiMartino, the Kansas City Fire Department put out a fire inside the house after responding to KCPD’s request.
Officers discovered a young girl who had been shot when they returned inside. At the scene, paramedics declared her dead.
