Vice President Kamala Harris has unseated former President Donald Trump in most swing states, according to a poll by Bloomberg News and Morning Consult.
Since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and Harris has successfully launched his campaign on his own, Trump has lost leads in Nevada, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
Harris also “more than doubled Biden’s lead over Trump in Michigan,” ended Trump’s lead in Georgia (where both candidates had 47 percent), and surged in the polls in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Harris has now led Trump in Bloomberg’s all-state poll and is now just one point behind the former president.
Bloomberg reported: “The numbers show Harris played a key role in building the electoral coalition that brought President Barack Obama to the White House and a clear path to victory over Biden, who is trying to fight for the Democratic Party.” He said the race was still “head-spinning” as Harris’ lead in the polls remained inaccurate.
Bloomberg also warned that Harris may be in a “honeymoon phase” as a new candidate and her support could wane.
An Axios poll showed Harris leading Trump by 20 points this month among young voters ages 18 to 34, while her approval rating also rose. But Nate Silver’s Poll Model still predicts a Trump victory over Harris in November.
