In a tragic incident on Saturday night, Frederick Owusu Sakyi, a 33-year-old Walkersville resident, was arrested for the alleged murder of his estranged wife in the parking lot of the Urbana Giant supermarket in Maryland.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at approximately 11:11 p.m. on January 6 at 3530 Sugarloaf Parkway. Deputies discovered the lifeless body of Sakyi’s estranged wife, whose identity has not been disclosed, confirming that the couple was in the process of a divorce.
Authorities revealed that Sakyi has a history of protective orders and stalking concerning the victim. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office stated, “The initial investigation found that Sakyi was the estranged husband of the victim and that they are currently going through a divorce.”
Following his arrest, Sakyi was booked into the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
