Matt Rhule might have three new coordinators by 2025. Earlier this season, he replaced offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield with Dana Holgorsen, and John Butler took over for Tony White, who left for Florida State.
Football Scoop reported on Saturday that Rhule had parted ways with special teams coordinator Ed Foley. The University of Nebraska has not confirmed the report.

This follows a season in which the Huskers had 10 kicks blocked and several long snapping troubles on field goals and extra points.
Even in NU’s Pinstripe Bowl triumph over Boston College, the Big Red’s special teams errors accounted for nearly all of the Eagles’ points.
The Eagles blocked an extra point, ran it back for two points, and blocked a punt, bringing the game to 20-15 in the fourth quarter.
In a 14-7 victory over Rutgers, the Huskers had two kick punts but were able to overcome them thanks to their defense.
In a 13-10 loss at Iowa, NU touched a punt within the 5-yard line, giving the Hawkeyes momentum after falling behind 10-0, and they found a way to win despite going 0-of-10 on third down and having just five first downs in the game, compared to Nebraska’s 20.
Foley was not with the staff at Saturday’s basketball game
Another piece of proof for Foley’s future is that practically the whole coaching staff was present at Saturday’s UCLA vs. Nebraska basketball game.
Foley was not seen with the coaching staff at the basketball game and has not been on the road recruiting in the past year. Only ten instructors are allowed to travel, and he lost his seat when Jamar Mozee and Keith Williams were hired.
He did, however, lead the recruitment of new Washington punter Jack McCallister and New Hampshire long snapper Kevin Gallic.
Nebraska has yet to confirm Football Scoop’s story of a change at special teams coordinator.
