WALDORF, Md. – A Hughesville woman has been indicted by a Charles County Grand Jury for a series of violent crimes, including home invasion, armed robbery, and assault. Danielle Sicam Alicka, 27, is accused of breaking into a Waldorf residence on May 1, 2024, along with two unidentified male accomplices, and terrorizing the occupants during a late-night social gathering.
As previously reported, the incident began when Alicka and her accomplices forced their way into the home, allegedly armed with a handgun, and demanded valuables. Witnesses said the intruders repeatedly struck one victim, a male resident, with the firearm, causing significant injuries. A second victim, a female attendee, sustained a head laceration during the attack. The suspects reportedly stole personal property, including credit cards, a cellphone, and other valuables.
According to court documents, the female victim identified Alicka as one of the intruders, recognizing her through her mask as an acquaintance. Law enforcement later confirmed this identification using a photograph from Alicka’s Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration record. The indictment does not name the two male accomplices, who remain unidentified as of this time.
Alicka faces a range of severe charges, including home invasion, which carries a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison. The armed robbery charge could result in a maximum of 20 years, while the first-degree assault charges are punishable by up to 25 years for each count. Additionally, the firearm-related offenses tied to the commission of a felony could lead to up to 20 years in prison, which must be served consecutively to other sentences if convicted. The conspiracy charges could add several more years, depending on the court’s findings.
Following her arrest in July, Alicka has been held without bond. Pretrial hearings began in August, but numerous delays have pushed the trial to February 2025. The latest hearing, held on December 17, saw further motions filed by both the defense and prosecution. Judge Hayward James West is presiding over the case, with Alicka represented by defense attorney Jeremy Widder.
Prosecutors for Charles County have emphasized the severity of the crimes, highlighting the calculated use of violence and firearms. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information regarding the two male accomplices to come forward.
