Lincoln, Nebraska — An Omaha woman was arrested Tuesday following a high-speed chase through central Nebraska.
The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office reported that the pursuit began around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 30 east of Central City.
A deputy observed a Chevrolet Impala driving recklessly near County Road 22, prompting other drivers to swerve out of the way, according to the sheriff’s office.
The deputy attempted to stop the car, but authorities say the driver, 22-year-old McKenzie Hinderliter of Omaha, sped away.
Hinderliter reached 125 mph before exiting the highway and leading the deputy down county roads, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said she drove off the road and rolled while attempting to make a turn.
Investigators discovered drugs in the car and discovered Hinderliter’s driver’s license was revoked, according to the sheriff’s office.
They believe alcohol and drugs contributed to the accident.
Hinderliter was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln with minor injuries.
Authorities are requesting a warrant for her arrest on two felony charges: possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
She also faces several misdemeanors and infractions, such as driving while revoked, obstructing a police officer, and willful reckless driving.
