Man killed in Saturday motorcycle accident in Huron, Identified

A 31-year-old man from Huron, South Dakota, lost his life in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Saturday morning on August 17, 2024. The crash occurred at approximately 3:37 a.m. when Matthew J. Walker, the driver of a 2007 Honda motorcycle, was traveling northbound on Westpark Avenue in Huron. According to preliminary reports, Walker lost control of the motorcycle, which then veered off the roadway and entered the east ditch. The impact caused Walker to be separated from the motorcycle, which subsequently caught fire. Despite wearing a helmet, Walker sustained fatal injuries from the crash.
