A Zoom call aimed at rallying ‘white ladies’ to support Kamala Harris’ White House bid raised more than $4 million from nearly 190,000 Americans, including many Hollywood stars, in the latest victory of Kamala Harris’ presidential bid.
Harris’ campaign-added fundraiser won Tuesday; these include the release of a new ad, the endorsement of the Republican mayor of Arizona’s largest city, and the endorsement of Republican candidate J.D. It includes support that Harris threatens him more than Joe Biden’s campaign.
Monday night, guests chanted “White Men for Harris” and named only Harris’s running mate: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz; Illinois Governor JB Pritzker; and US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, as well as actors Jeff Bridges (known for his role as The Dude in The Big Lebowski) and Mark Hamill, who received $50,000 in donations during an appeal for donations to Star’s popular Wars franchise: “I’m Luke Skywalker.
to help I am here. “
The organizers’ press release stated that the meeting “did not meet expectations”.
“Speakers throughout the evening included governors, senators, congressmen, actors, and singers, all speaking to white people around the world who need to organize and support Kamala Harris for president.” “The speakers spoke candidly and frankly about the path forward, the importance of our unity, and the important role we can play in encouraging other white people to turn their backs on the dangerous, dark path that Donald Trump is trying to lead us down.”
Harris, a former California attorney general and U.S. senator of Indian and Jamaican descent, became the first woman elected vice president when Joe Biden won the White House in 2020. She will now likely be the first woman of color to assume the leadership of a major party after Biden abandoned his reelection campaign on July 21 to endorse her.
Democrats have responded enthusiastically to Harris’s wave, as evidenced by 170,000 people signing up to donate to her campaign in the first week alone and raising $200 million in political warchests.
But Biden’s former President Trump and his mostly white Republican supporters have praised him for his rise and belittled him as an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
“Their bleak vision of our future, frankly, puts all of us at a disadvantage,” Democratic communications consultant Brad Bauman, who helped organize Monday’s call, told NBC News. “That’s why we decided to launch White Dude on Harris.”
