On Thursday night, Donald Trump unveiled a major deportation plan that will beat the worst mass deportation in American history, President Dwight Eisenhower’s racist “Operation Wetback.”
The former president chose to mention the thirty-fourth U.S. president while engaging in his usual scare tactics of assigning blame for all of the nation’s problems to immigrants.
“And horrible things will occur, and you will witness it frequently,” stated Trump. “For this reason, the Republican platform calls for the beginning of the largest deportation campaign in American history. Much bigger than Dwight D. Eisenhower’s, from a long time ago.”
Roughly 1.3 million Mexican immigrants, a few of whom had obtained legalization, were deported by U.S. officials using military-style methods during that “some years ago” program, which was put into place in 1954. The authorities transported large numbers of people lacking food or water on trucks, which led to numerous needless deaths.
Trump maintained his illogical allegation that nations were bringing inmates and mentally ill people to the United States throughout his speech on Thursday night, the last night of the Republican National Convention.
Additionally, the former president asserted that illegal immigrants were to blame for the loss of all American employment. Seems like even more rapidly than they might’ve been created.
“Alien immigrants are flooding our cities now. Jobs are being seized by Americans as they are being forced off of the labor force. Do you realize who, by the way, is taking the newly generated jobs? He said that illegal aliens were stealing jobs from unions, Black and Hispanic Americans, and that they provided 17% of those positions.
