The latest events that occurred yesterday have stockholders in Tesla and Elon Musk on extremely high alert.
When the world watched in sorrow as the front-runner for the 47th US President, former President Trump, came dangerously near to passing away on stage, colleagues and shareholders in Tesla expressed concern that Musk would experience similar misfortune.
“Please, please increase your safety,” was what Ian Miles Cheong on X said to Musk. They are coming for you too if they can come for Trump.”
While some may view this as an unwarranted overreaction, Elon Musk recently disclosed that 2 gunmen had already attempted to kill him in a different incident.
Musk replied, writing, “Dangerous times ahead.” In the last 8 months, I have already had two attempts at my life (on different dates). About 20 20-minute drive from Tesla’s Texas headquarters, they were apprehended holding firearms.
After Musk’s remarks shocked the Tesla community and investors, Tesla retail investor Alexandra Merz—better referred to as Tesla Boomer Mama—organized a petition to the board of directors requesting an increase in security funding for the protection of Musk, Tesla staff, and Tesla facilities across the globe.
Following Musk’s takeover of Twitter, Tesla shareholders have voiced growing concerns about the possibility that dishonest persons and those with connections who disagree with Musk’s political views could endanger Musk’s life.
This may seem like an excessive concern, as I’ve already said, but two gunmen have already been taken into custody for allegedly aiming to kill Musk, as he disclosed.
In true Musk’s style, he chose to bring humor into the discussion even as he talked about worries for his safety. “You must strengthen up your security too, Elon Musk,” a user from X commented to Musk.
“Maybe it’s high time to set up that flying metal suit of armor,” wrote Musk in response.
Elon Musk is regarded by some as the real-life Iron Man, as mentioned in Musk’s statement. Musk is suggesting that to defend himself, he might have to construct the Iron Man movie’s flying metal suit of armor.
