Kevin Bui, 20, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for his role in a fatal fire that killed five people in 2020. Bui pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder, according to the report of True Crime Daily.
Prosecutor’s Words
Denver DA Beth McCann called Bui the “ringleader of this deeply disturbing and utterly senseless crime”. The fire occurred on August 5, 2020, and claimed the lives of five immigrants from Senegal who were living with a local family.

Investigation Reveals
The fire was intentionally set using an accelerant. Surveillance footage showed the three suspects wearing masks. Bui mistakenly targeted the wrong house after seeking revenge against a family he believed had robbed him.
Sentencing of Accomplices
Bui’s accomplices, Gavin Seymour and Dillon Siebert, have also been sentenced. Seymour received 40 years in prison, while Siebert got seven years in the Youthful Offender System and three years in the Division of Youth Services.
Bui Takes Responsibility
Bui acknowledged his actions and took full responsibility for the tragedy. “I take full responsibility. I don’t ask for forgiveness. I was an ignorant knucklehead blinded by rage,” he said.
