MGM Entertainment has announced a recall of approximately 22 million Make It Mini toy sets sold across the United States and Canada, citing health risks associated with the contained resins, MGM stated in a notice posted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Nature of the Recall and Product Details
The recall specifically affects 38 Miniverse Make It Mini Sets that include unused liquid resins, such as “Make It Mini Appliances,” all variants of “Make It Mini Food,” and “Make It Mini Lifestyle.” These sets were identified to contain resins that, in their liquid form, can potentially cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation. The resins in question reportedly contain chemical agents in amounts prohibited in children’s products under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Manufactured in China, these sets were distributed through various retailers including Aldi, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Hobby Lobby, Target, Walmart, and online platforms from October 2022 to June 2024. Prices ranged from $7 to $13 each, while boxed sets were sold for approximately $14 to $52, depending on the model.
