Henry Corral Arrested After Intense 24-Hour Manhunt in San Luis Valley

Henry Corral is now in custody facing multiple charges including first-degree murder following a dramatic manhunt in the San Luis Valley, according to the published article of KKTV. The intense search which involved dozens of officers and aerial support concluded just before 7 a.m. when Alamosa city officials announced Corral’s apprehension on social media. The charges against Corral are severe: one count of first-degree murder two counts of attempted first-degree murder tampering with physical evidence possession of a weapon by a previous offender and criminal attempt of aggravated robbery. The investigation began in the early hours of Sunday when Alamosa Police responded to reports of shots fired at the Sunset Inn Hotel. Upon arrival officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. By Monday afternoon two of the victims remained in critical condition at a Front Range hospital.

Henry Corral in Custody: Facing First-Degree Murder and Multiple Charges After Alamosa Incident

After the initial incident Corral fled the scene but soon crashed his vehicle at County Road 106 and 12 South. Following the crash he attempted to carjack a vehicle before fleeing on foot prompting a massive search effort. The police did not report any injuries resulting from the attempted carjacking. During the manhunt as many as 80 officers were involved in a thorough search of the area canvassing door-to-door and building-to-building between County Roads 10S and 15S and from 106S to 100S. After his capture Corral was taken to San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center to treat injuries sustained in the crash and later life-flighted to a Front Range hospital for further treatment. Once released from the hospital he was escorted by Alamosa police officers to the Alamosa County Jail marking the end of a tense and chaotic 24-hour period for the local community.
