Des Moines, IA – A tragic incident unfolded on June 11th when 16-year-old Mohamed Elzubeir allegedly stabbed his 19-year-old brother, Abdelmagid Elzubeir, in their Oakridge Drive apartment. The altercation resulted in Abdelmagid being critically injured and later succumbing to his wounds at a local hospital.
Police responded swiftly to the scene following a distress call at approximately 10:15 a.m., discovering Abdelmagid with severe injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he tragically passed away from the injuries inflicted by his younger brother.
Mohamed Elzubeir was apprehended shortly after the incident and is currently held on a $1 million bond at a juvenile detention facility, facing charges of first-degree murder as an adult.
