Columbus Family Seeks Justice After 17-Year-Old Halia Culbertson’s Killer Gets 3-Year Deal

In Columbus, Ohio the family of 17-year-old Halia Culbertson is grappling with intense grief and frustration following the tragic loss of their loved one, according to the published article of ABC 6. Culbertson was fatally stabbed in March 2023 during a fight outside a Northland convenience store a violent act committed by then 18-year-old Bryanna Barozzini. Now more than a year later Barozzini has struck a deal with prosecutors pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter. The agreement has drastically reduced her potential sentence from a life term to a maximum of three years in prison leaving Culbertson’s family feeling that justice has not been served. The plea deal which saw two murder counts dropped in favor of a lesser charge has been particularly hard for the family to accept.
