Triple Homicide Suspect Alyssa Venable Arrested After New York Chase, Faces Extradition to Virginia

Alyssa Venable, 23, was arrested in New York after a chase and will be extradited to Virginia to face charges for the triple homicide of her three roommates, found dead in their Spotsylvania County home.

Triple Homicide Suspect Arrested in Spotsylvania County

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 23-year-old Alyssa Venable on June 6. New York State Police spotted her vehicle in Steuben County, New York, and a chase ended when Venable crashed after police used a tire deflation device, according to the crime report of True Crime Daily.

Venable had minor injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. She will be sent back to Virginia to face charges of three counts of second-degree murder and using a firearm during a felony.

The arrest comes after deputies found three people dead in a home on White Street Court on June 4. The victims were 77-year-old Robert McGuire, 60-year-old Gregory Powell, and 65-year-old Carol Reese, who all had severe upper body injuries. Venable, their roommate was identified as the main suspect.

Warrants Issued for Murder Suspect Venable

Sheriff Roger Harris confirmed that warrants were issued for Venable’s arrest for murder and using a firearm in a felony. Venable may have shaved her head to avoid capture and was last seen driving a gray 2009 Honda Civic.

Some details of the investigation are being kept secret to protect the case. Authorities continue to investigate the events leading to the murders and Venable’s arrest.
