Capital Pride Parade: When and Where?

The Capital Pride Parade is set for Saturday, June 8, from 3-7 p.m. This year, the parade will follow a new route, diverging from its traditional path through the Dupont neighborhood. The parade’s staging area will be on 15th Street NW, where participants will gather between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The parade will officially start at 3 p.m. from 14th Street at T Street NW. The 1.8-mile route will travel down 14th Street NW, loop around Thomas Circle, and conclude at Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Street NW. Key locations along the route include the annual block party on 17th Street and the family-friendly area at Stead Park.

Best Viewing Spots of the Parade

For those planning to watch the parade in person, there are several prime viewing spots. You can enjoy the parade for free from the sidelines along the route. Recommended locations include the west side of Franklin Park and the intersections at New York and Rhode Island Avenues NW. While free general admission for a special viewing area at Thomas Circle across from the Parade Review Stand near Hotel Zena is already sold out, attendees still have other options. You can make a $5-10 suggested donation for access to this area or opt for a more premium experience by purchasing a $25 ticket for the grandstand bleachers on Freedom Plaza.
