In 45 minutes, New York City witnessed a series of shootings, leaving one person dead and six others injured. The first incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. during a baby shower at 108-11 Atlantic Ave. in Richmond Hill, Queens. Authorities reported that four men were shot, resulting in one fatality.
Fatalities and Injuries Reported
Among the victims, a 24-year-old man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Additionally, a 45-year-old man was shot once in the left leg, while a 26-year-old man was struck in the right arm. The 24-year-old succumbed to his injuries at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, while the other two victims were reported to be in stable condition at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Queens.
Additional Victim and Circumstances
A fourth victim, a 43-year-old man, arrived at Jamaica Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his arms and legs. Despite the severity of his injuries, he was reported to be in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, with no arrests made at the time of the report.
Mysterious Shooting in Jamaica
Less than 15 minutes after the initial incident, another shooting occurred at around 1:40 a.m. outside 199-23 Linden Blvd., near 200th Street, in Jamaica. A 25-year-old man was shot in the head and is currently in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
Unanswered Questions and Ongoing Investigation
As with the first shooting, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident in Jamaica. An NYPD spokesman stated, “It’s unknown what led to this or what the motive was or if these two men were the intended targets,” highlighting the complexity of the ongoing investigation.
