Victim Forced to Surrender Vehicle at Gunpoint
Following a concerning armed carjacking incident in Northwest D.C., the Third District of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., made an arrest. early on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the morning. The upsetting incident happened at approximately 9:06 a.m. On the Unit block of O Street, Northwest, a woman was forced to give over her Lexus after being approached by an armed attacker.
The guy approached the victim while she was parking her car, threatening her and brandishing a gun. The victim gave in to the demands, giving the perpetrator her automobile out of fear for her safety. A worried onlooker then quickly called 911 to report what had happened.

Moments later, officers from the Fourth District responded to a separate incident—a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Rock Creek Church Road and Taylor Street, Northwest. Acting on a tip from a vigilant member of the public, law enforcement was able to locate the stolen Lexus and its driver. Upon stopping the vehicle in the 200 block of Upshur Street, Northwest, officers made a significant discovery—an illegal firearm was recovered from the possession of the suspect. Through a thorough investigation, authorities were able to positively identify the driver as the perpetrator behind the carjacking.
The result of law enforcement’s prompt and decisive response was the arrest of a 16-year-old Southeast Asian male. Armed carjacking, possessing an unregistered firearm, and possessing a large-capacity ammo feeding device are among the grave accusations he now faces.
