Christian Robert Basham, 56, was found dead last month in Los Angeles, reigniting a decades-old investigation into his alleged suicide.

Basham, who was living under the alias Mark Clemens, was discovered deceased on February 26. However, what initially appeared to be a routine case took a dramatic turn when the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office uncovered his true identity. According to police reports, Basham had been arrested in 2008 on charges of second-degree child rape and was released on bail.
