Black Families Challenges
This is especially important for Black families in Kentucky who make up 8.05% of the population. Black mothers often face more challenges during pregnancy like higher chances of babies dying and worse health for themselves. Getting child support from the father could help with money problems. But Black men being in jail a lot and facing job discrimination make it hard for them to pay child support. While the Kentucky bill might help with pregnancy costs it also shows bigger problems for Black families everywhere. Black mothers often have a hard time getting the money they need to raise their kids. There are differences in how custody is decided and enforcing child support agreements is tough. To help Black families we need to fix the unfairness and discrimination that makes it hard for them to thrive.
