According to Marca, many people in Tacoma are having a tough time with money. The local government and the United Way of Pierce County are starting a project called Growing Resilience in Tacoma (GRIT). This project wants to help families who are struggling financially. They will give these families $500 every month for one year, which will help them out.

GRIT Project Offers Financial Relief for Struggling Families

GRIT is all about helping families who don’t have enough money. It wants to make things better for those struggling families by giving them some extra cash every month. This money can help struggling families with bills make their homes safer and make them feel better mentally. A lot of families in Tacoma have trouble with money so GRIT is a big help for them. Starting in April and going until June 2025, those struggling families can apply for GRIT . They started accepting applications on March 1. After everyone applies they’ll randomly pick 175 families to get the money. This project is a big deal for Tacoma because it shows that the city and the United Way care about everyone and want to make things better for them.
