A woman has been taken into custody following a tragic incident in Credit River Township, Minnesota, where a man was found dead in her home. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check request on Monday night, leading deputies to discover the body of a 45-year-old man inside the residence on Century Lane, approximately 6 miles south of Prior Lake.

Sheriff Luke Hennen expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones, describing the situation as a “tragic incident.” The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed due to legal procedures, was arrested without resistance around 6:30 a.m. the following day. She faces suspicion of second-degree murder along with several assault charges.

Authorities have not divulged specifics regarding the cause of the man’s death, but indications from the jail log suggest the involvement of a firearm. The woman is suspected of offenses related to reckless discharge of a firearm and endangering a child with a firearm.
