Chad’s TikTok Jest Amidst Mother’s Sentencing: Lack of Remorse on Display
According to MailOnline, three days before Ruby Franke’s sentencing her son Chad took to TikTok to jest about his mother’s impending imprisonment, while a YouTuber was sentenced to 30 years for child abuse. In court, Ruby wept as she received up to 30 years for the brutal abuse of her children in what was described as a ‘concentration camp-like setting.’ Chad’s apparent lack of remorse was evident as he left the courthouse with a large smile on his face.
Ruby Franke, 42, who pleaded guilty last year to four counts of child abuse following her child’s escape and report to a neighbor, was sentenced in Utah’s 5th District Court to between one to 15 years in prison for each count, potentially totaling 60 years. However, state law limits her sentence to a maximum of 30 years with the actual time to be determined by the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole. Franke broke down in court, expressing remorse and apologizing to her children whom she referred to as her “little chicks,” indicating her willingness to serve her time.

Ruby Franke’s business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, received the same sentence on Tuesday, and both women are set to serve their time in Utah State Prison. Known as a ‘Momfluencer,’ Franke gained internet fame through her YouTube channel 8 Passengers, where millions watched her and her then-husband, Kevin Franke, raise and discipline their six children. However, allegations of abuse surfaced late last year, leading to Franke’s arrest alongside Hildebrandt. The pair pleaded guilty in late December to charges related to child abuse, marking a stark turn from Franke’s previous public image as a Mormon mother and online personality.
