Metro Nashville Police are on the hunt for a man accused of assaulting a 25-year-old woman on the Cumberland River Greenway. The incident took place on Sunday evening near the intersection of Second Avenue North and Cement Plant Road.

According to the victim, she encountered the man while running on the greenway and initially thought he was trying to engage her in conversation. However, the situation took a terrifying turn when the man grabbed her and put her in a chokehold. He then forcefully threw her into a fence, causing her to fall, before pinning her down. Fortunately, a witness intervened and pulled the attacker away, prompting him to flee the scene.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged man with facial hair and tan skin. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and dark slipper-type shoes. Prior to the assault, he was observed walking away from a nearby homeless camp.
