Chaos Unfolds Amidst Unrelated Robbery Investigation

The incident occurred on Park Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on January 17, with officers already present in the area investigating an unrelated robbery at a clothing store. Part of the road had been closed off due to the examination of an abandoned car, creating a chaotic backdrop for the intentional collision.

Following the intentional collision, witnesses heard Dula shouting expletives directed at the police, stating, “F— these cops! He wouldn’t move!’’ She callously added, “F— these cops, it’s a lesson to him, and hopefully he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore.” Court documents reveal that the injured officer suffered a broken leg and extensive bruising on various parts of his body.

Admission of Guilt and Shocking Revelations at Arraignment

During her arraignment hearing, Dula made shocking statements, admitting, “I told the cop I wanted to go straight, and he wouldn’t move, so I hit him. I did it on purpose.” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Lucy Shephard revealed that Dula, who mentors kids to stay off drugs, also confessed to smoking marijuana. The gravity of the charges against her include first-degree attempted assault, attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer, second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and reckless driving.

Legal Consequences: Bond Set at $25,000

Facing severe charges, the judge set Dula’s bond at $25,000 during the arraignment hearing. Despite her admission and the severity of the charges, the suspect did not immediately make bail. The court proceedings shed light on the intentional nature of the collision and the potential legal ramifications Dula may face for her reckless actions.
