In a distressing incident, a 57-year-old man from Michigan has been apprehended after allegedly stabbing his 62-year-old wife multiple times in the face during a domestic violence altercation. The harrowing event took place on Monday night in Frenchtown Township, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
At approximately 9:16 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, Monroe County Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident on the 1500 block of Stewart Road. Deputies were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the aftermath of a violent assault on a 62-year-old woman by her 57-year-old husband.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation revealed that an argument between the couple escalated, culminating in the man viciously stabbing his wife in the face multiple times. The assailant fled the scene in his truck before the arrival of deputies.
A vigilant deputy later located the suspect’s truck on S. Dixie Highway near Dunbar Road in Monroe Township. The deputy initiated a traffic stop, confirming the driver’s identity as the alleged perpetrator. The man was promptly arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail. His identity is being withheld pending arraignment.
Meanwhile, the victim was transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for her injuries sustained during the brutal attack.
