In a significant development in the case of the disappearance of 52-year-old Dee Warner from Lenawee County, a suspect has been apprehended, bringing a renewed focus on the investigation that spanned over two years.
Michigan State Police, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, announced the arrest of the suspect linked to Dee Warner’s murder. While the suspect’s identity was initially withheld pending arraignment, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that Dee’s husband, Dale Warner, was the individual taken into custody.
The suspect’s arraignment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, where further details about the charges were expected to be revealed. At the time of reporting, law enforcement had not released additional information regarding the arrest.
Dee Warner was reported missing in April 2021, with her last known location being her residence in Lenawee County. In August, a Michigan State Police detective testified in a Lenawee County court, stating that Dale Warner was under investigation as a suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
Dale Warner had previously denied any involvement in Dee Warner’s vanishing act. During the course of the investigation, both he and an associate were arrested and held in contempt of court for failing to provide documents to the conservator of Dee Warner’s estate.
The investigation took a significant turn when the Warner family filed a petition, urging the court to consider legal proceedings to declare Dee Warner dead. The family’s plea, filed last year, emphasized their belief that Dee would never voluntarily abandon her family, particularly her youngest daughter, who is a minor.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the Lenawee County community awaits further updates on the charges against Dale Warner and the details surrounding Dee Warner’s mysterious disappearance, bringing a sense of closure to a long-standing and distressing case.
