A shocking incident unfolded at Trinity Healthcare Nursing Home in Logan County, Ohio, as a 44-year-old man, James Biddell, was arrested on suspicion of shooting his 67-year-old mother, Tomalene Greene, at the facility. The motive behind the attack, according to authorities, was an unsettling look that Biddell claimed his mother gave him.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the nursing home’s call on Monday, October 23, at around 5:12 p.m. after reports of a shooting. It was alleged that James Biddell had shot his mother before leaving the scene in a silver Chevrolet truck.
Tomalene Greene sustained a gunshot wound to her chest and was airlifted to the Charleston Area Medical Center. As of the latest reports, she is in stable condition but remains hospitalized.
While en route to the nursing home, State Police Troopers intercepted Biddell’s vehicle on US 119 near the Chapmanville exit, apprehending him. During questioning by officials, Biddell confessed to the shooting, offering a chilling explanation for his actions.
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy Johnson revealed, “The way that he explained it to us was that he just drove down, and she looked at him a certain way, and apparently he didn’t like it.”
Biddell reportedly had a concealed firearm on his person, which he drew and used to shoot his mother in the chest.
James Biddell now faces serious charges, including attempted murder, malicious wounding, and wanton endangerment. He is currently being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a bond set at $100,000.
This disturbing incident has sent shockwaves through the community, as it highlights the tragic consequences of an altercation driven by a seemingly insignificant gesture. The nursing home has been cooperating with the authorities, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
As the legal process unfolds, the community and healthcare facility remain on edge, grappling with the horrifying events that transpired within the nursing home’s walls.
