In a report by People News, Lori Vallow Daybell, also known as the “doomsday mother” appeared to be smirking in her prison booking photo after being charged with life imprisonment without any chances of parole on Monday. In the courtroom, Lori Daybell claimed that her kids, who she just murdered in 2019, weren’t dead.
In 2019, Lori Vallow Daybell, a woman from Idaho, committed the horrific crimes of murdering her 7-year-old son Joshua “J.J” Vallow, and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan. It was also discovered that Lori Daybell conspired with her husband, Chad Daybell, to kill the latter’s first wife, Tammy Daybell, in the same year.
Despite the severity of her crimes, Lori Daybell exhibited little remorse or emotion during her trial. These acts were fueled by the couple’s belief in “doomsday,” which they used as justification for their heinous actions.
It is important to remember the lives lost and the impact these crimes have had on the victims’ loved ones. We must work towards preventing such tragedies from occurring in our communities in the future.

During a previous trial, Gibb, Lori Daybell’s former friend, testified about the couple’s religious beliefs, revealing a shocking discovery to the courtroom.
As published in Menzmag, Gibb stated in a previous trial that Lori Daybell categorized people as either “light” or “dark,” with those in the light conforming to Jesus Christ and those in the dark following Satan. Lordi Daybell claimed that her children had recently turned “dark”, Gibb testified during the trial.
Lori Daybell and her husband’s religious beliefs centered on the idea that the world was about to end and that they were chosen by God to lead the civilization through the apocalypse. Lori Daybell even believed that her sons were still alive, claiming that she was visited by her son J.J. ‘s spirit, who told her that she had done nothing wrong and that he knew she loved him every minute of his life.
Despite Daybell’s claims that her children were content with their deaths, the judge deemed her crimes “heinous and egregious.” Daybell’s lack of remorse and her involvement in what the jury called a “bizarre religious rabbit hole” was also criticized.
The sentencing of Lori Daybell serves as a reminder of the lives lost and the impact these crimes have had on the victims’ loved ones. It also highlights the importance of preventing such tragedies from occurring in our communities in the future.
